The WP Cloud platform team will deploy WordPress 6.5 to the platform either day-of or the day after the core release to ensure maximum support coverage after the deploy. We will monitor for stability and report any discovered issues back to hosts.
This release was originally scheduled for 26 March 2024 but has been pushed back one week to allow for additional testing around Font Library changes and an RC4, which will be deployed to the “beta” pin once available.
Based on community feedback on the Unblocking WP6.5 – Font Library and Synced Pattern Overrides and Font Library follow up posts, there has been a change to the WordPress 6.5 release schedule and a final change to the Font Library.
The release of WordPress 6.5 will be delayed one week and is now scheduled for release on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024.
As a reminder, sites will be upgraded by the platform and have the core upgrade routine run if they are on the “latest” pin. If a site (or host) wishes to manage their own upgrade, setting the site on the “previous” pin will keep them on WordPress 6.4.3 for an additional 30 days.
