Jetpack backups

LAST UPDATED

Jetpack VaultPress Backup is an optional backup service that WP Cloud partners can offer through a separate Jetpack partnership. It runs on infrastructure separate from WP Cloud platform backups and gives a partner’s customers an independent backup and restore system.

Jetpack provides scheduled and on-demand backups. Customers can restore a backup through Jetpack or download it as a gzip-compressed tar archive. A downloaded archive can also be extracted and manually restored to another site. The archive can preserve symlinked plugins and themes unless they are premium or WordPress.com themes.

Jetpack backups and WP Cloud platform backups remain separate. Jetpack does not share its backup records or restore workflow with the WP Cloud platform backup system.

Jetpack plans can also include services such as Jetpack Scan, separate from any security features provided by WP Cloud. Partners can include eligible Jetpack plans with their hosting products, offer paid upgrades, and earn revenue from those sales. WP Cloud managed partners have access to special plan options.

Partners can review the Jetpack Partner Program or contact WP Cloud Support to discuss a Jetpack partnership, plan bundling, included plans, and upgrade options. See the Jetpack Backup documentation for current backup, download, restore, and troubleshooting procedures.
